RÉSUMÉ
Numerous scientific models aim to explain engagement and well-being at work. Some focus more on the personal factors that can be activated, while others emphasize the characteristics of the organizational environment and context. In this article, we propose integrating the organizational and personal antecedents of engagement and well-being at work into the Positive Organizational Profile (POP) model.
This research aims to validate a French-language diagnostic tool that combines individual resources, organizational environment, and professional role to determine engagement and well-being at work, as well as performance, using a large sample of French employees (N = 1,734). The results of confirmatory factor analyses demonstrate the structural validity of the new questionnaire, whose 18 scales show good reliability (α between .73 and .93).
Multiple regression analyses reveal predictable associations of different types of work resources with work engagement, work dependency, burnout, boredom, job satisfaction, work-life balance, and self-assessment of work performance.
The POP model offers a comprehensive perspective on the antecedents of organizational and personal fulfillment at work. The new French-language POP resource questionnaire can be used in research and organizational development practice to inform interventions by identifying potential drivers of positive change within teams.
